Planning for your wedding, quinceanera, prom, birthday or any special event is such an exciting time! There are not many occasions in life when you get to wear a tiara! Here are a few tips to help you select the correct tiara for you to help you feel and look like a princess on your special day!
When wearing an updo, the tiara should be placed well back, against the hair. Do not place it forward, leaving a gap between the tiara and the updo.
Keep in mind that if you have a long face, you may feel most comfortable with a low profile tiara or headband because a high, pointy tiara may make your face look even longer. Individuals with rounder faces usually look good in almost any tiara shape, but a tiara that rises to a point in the middle may be most complimentary. For a petite face, choosing a really large tiara may be too much. The tiara should bring attention to you and not be the center of attention!
A veil may also be attached behind an updo. If you are wearing the veil at the top of the head, attach the veil to the base of the tiara leaving no gap. The veil can even be sewn onto the tiara with invisible thread if you choose. Many brides sew snaps or use velcro to attach the veil. This way you can remove the veil for the reception and still wear the tiara. …who wouldn’t want to keep wearing the tiara!
